I'm making the covers for a new Vertigo monthly from Si Spencer and Simon Gane starting in a few months. Here's a rough for the second issue. I've roughed out a few routes so this one might not get chosen but it one's of my favourites. If it does get through, I'll hand paint it...

I haven't inked yesterday's panel yet. Today I've been mostly pencilling pages although I did manage to ink a few panels.

Here's a panel from Criminal in 'pencil' stage. Actually it's a combination of lettering done in Illustrator, a collage of a couple of my own photos of New York and a found photo of a Mitsubishi Raider, and a few lines drawn with a blue marker. I'll try and pull all these elements together in the inks tomorrow...

Back Home

Well, Paris was great. I'd like to thank Thierry, Emmanuelle, Guy and David and everyone else at Delcourt for looking after us for the weekend and showing us a good time. Thanks to everyone who bought and had 7 Psychos and Criminal signed. Also Marvel Zombies came out in France last weekend so I also signed copies of that and lots of French editions of my Batman, X-Men and Spider-man stuff. Had time for a little sight-seeing too and ate and drank far too much. Hopefully I'll get to go back when the second Criminal hardcover comes out in France next year.
The photo here shows Fabien Vehlmann the writer of 7 Psychos and myself at the Virgin Megastore before our first signing. Thanks to all the fans who came that day and came back the next day to the next signing and the very keen few who then came back a third time...

Just in time too. Off to Paris in a few hours to sign copies of the Seven Psychos and the French edition of Criminal.
